Throughout these Terms of Service, the following definitions apply:
ORGANIZATION & PARTICIPANTS
“Alderpen Media, Inc.”, “Alderpen Media”, or “Alderpen” refers to the C-Corporation that is registered in the State of Maine, USA, and that was founded by George and Jodell Benson. It is the owner of all services, products, platforms, and programs described in these Terms.
“You”, “your”, “user”, “visitor”, or “participant” refers to any individual accessing or using services, websites, products, resources, or programs provided by Alderpen Media, Inc. This includes applicants, donors, clients, customers, community members, or visitors who engage with any of Alderpen’s offerings.
“Board of Directors” refers to the individuals elected or appointed to oversee and govern the corporate and strategic direction of Alderpen Media, Inc., including the approval of major policies, documents, and organizational changes.
“Shareholder” refers to any person or entity that holds shares in Alderpen Media, Inc. Shareholders may have voting rights or a financial interest in the corporation but do not necessarily participate in day-to-day operations unless otherwise stated.
“For-Profit Ministry” refers to the business and operational model adopted by Alderpen Media, Inc., in which the company intentionally combines a for-profit corporate structure with a mission-driven, service-oriented approach. This model blends traditional business operations, income-generating activities, and strategic entrepreneurship with a ministry mindset — one that emphasizes encouragement, generosity, and meaningful service to others — without seeking 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. The intentional choice to forgo tax-exempt status means that all donations made to the company are not tax-deductible as charitable contributions and are included as revenue on our books.
BRAND RELATED
“H@ME WORK™” refers to the brand and ministry-centered identity of Alderpen Media, Inc. It is used on various products and in the provision of various services and initiatives, including community platforms, programs, and services focused on supporting parents who work or run businesses from home.
“H@ME WORK™ Ministry Team” or “Team Member” refers to any person serving in an official capacity — including employees, and approved volunteers — who are authorized to represent or act on behalf of Alderpen Media, Inc. in delivering services, programs, communications, or support.
“The Home Work Dad™”, “The H@ME WORK Dad™”, or “#TheHomeWorkDad™” refers to the personal brand and public-facing content creator identity of George Benson, founder of Alderpen Media, Inc. This brand is used across various platforms, including but not limited to the official YouTube channel at youtube.com/@thehomeworkdad and the website thehomeworkdad.com. It serves as a recognizable voice and outreach platform for initiatives, content, and services aligned with the mission of Alderpen Media, Inc.
“The H@ME WORK Community™” or “#TheHomeWorkCommunity™” refers to the developing online space created and managed by Alderpen Media, Inc. for purpose-driven parents who work, run a business, or create content from home — or who aspire to do so. The community may include free and paid tiers, discussion forums, private groups, resources, and programs that foster support, learning, accountability, and encouragement.
“Home Work Parenting™”, “H@ME WORK Parenting™”, or “#HomeWorkParenting™” refers to a public-facing brand operated by Alderpen Media, Inc. This brand is used across various platforms, including but not limited to the official YouTube channel at youtube.com/@homeworkparenting and the website homeworkparenting.com. It serves as a recognizable voice and outreach platform for initiatives, content, and services aligned with the mission of Alderpen Media, Inc.
“The Home Work Parenting Podcast™”, “The H@ME WORK Parenting Podcast™”, or “#HomeWorkParentingPodcast™” refers to a podcast and video series created and distributed by Alderpen Media, Inc. Episodes may be published via the official YouTube channel at youtube.com/@homeworkparenting and supported by the website homeworkparenting.com.
ENGAGEMENT & PARTICIPATION
“Application”, “Application Form”, or “Form” refers to any structured method — such as an online form or digital questionnaire — by which an individual voluntarily submits information for the purpose of requesting assistance, applying for services, or expressing interest in a program, initiative, or opportunity. It does not include verbal conversations or casual correspondence.
“Financial Contribution(s)”, “Financial Donation(s)”, or “Donation” refers to any voluntary monetary contribution made by a user to support the mission and work of Alderpen Media, Inc., including donations submitted through application-based, pay-what-you-can, or other support-driven models.
“Application Donation(s)” refers to the minimum financial contribution required to submit an application for participation in certain programs, initiatives, or support-based services offered by Alderpen Media, Inc. This donation is used to offset the administrative and processing costs associated with reviewing and managing applications and is non-refundable, regardless of whether the application is selected.
“Service Donation” refers to a voluntary financial contribution offered by a user in connection with a specific service request, typically after their application has been selected. Service Donations are used to support the time, expertise, and resources required to fulfill the requested service and are often offered on a pay-what-you-can basis. A Service Donation may include a Service Deposit — a portion of the total donation that may be requested upfront before work begins. The remaining balance, if any, may be submitted at a later stage as agreed upon between the user and Alderpen Media, Inc.
OFFERINGS & DELIVERABLES
“Deliverable(s)” refers to custom-created outputs — such as graphics, written content, strategy outlines, or other results — provided to users as part of a service engagement.
“Product(s)” refers to digital or physical items — including e-books, downloads, templates, or tools — that are made available for sale, as part of a paid service, or through donation-based access models. Products may also be provided free of charge as part of a promotion, initiative, or broader support effort.
“Program(s)” or “Initiative(s)” refers to public- or private-facing projects operated by Alderpen Media, Inc., including but not limited to The H@ME WORK Parents Grow With Me Initiative™ and The H@ME WORK Community™.
“Resource(s)” refers to informational, educational, or inspirational materials — such as blog posts, tip sheets, guides, videos, or downloads — provided free of charge to support the mission of Alderpen Media, Inc. Resources are typically not tied to a specific transaction and are offered as part of the organization’s public outreach or ministry efforts.
“Service(s)” refers to any work, support, assistance, programs, coaching, consulting, or Deliverables offered by Alderpen Media, Inc., whether paid, donation-based, or free of charge.
INFORMATION TYPES
“Private Information” refers to personally identifiable information — including, but not limited to, names, email addresses, phone numbers, and other contact details — provided by users and not intended for public disclosure unless explicit permission is given.
“Public-Facing Information” refers to content that is already available in the public domain or intended to be publicly accessible. This may include, but is not limited to, business names, YouTube channels, websites, or other public profiles shared by users during correspondence or application.
“Shoutout Information” refers to any content voluntarily provided by an individual for promotional or public-facing use, typically through a designated section of an application form or during a recorded video call, interview, or collaborative session. This may include a mix of private and public-facing details — such as a name, business name, tagline, or social media handle. By sharing this information in a context designated for shoutouts, the individual grants Alderpen Media, Inc. permission to use it for public recognition or promotional purposes in alignment with Alderpen’s mission.
MEDIA & RECORDINGS
“Video Call(s)” or “Coaching Call(s)” refers to any live, virtual session conducted using video conferencing platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, or similar tools — whether one-on-one or in a group setting.
“Podcast” refers to any audio or video-based episode or series created, distributed, or published by Alderpen Media, Inc., whether through YouTube, a website, or other platform.
“RAW Footage” refers to any original, unedited video recording captured during a session, interview, coaching call, or other engagement. It does not include finalized or publicly released content.
“RAW Audio” refers to the original, unedited audio-only recording of a session, interview, coaching call, or other engagement. It is comparable to RAW Footage but without visual content.
“Audio Clip(s)” refers to edited or excerpted segments of recorded audio that may be used for training, promotional, or inspirational purposes. These may be derived from longer recordings or sessions.
“PUBLIC Video(s)” or “PUBLICLY Released Video(s)” refers to any compilation of audio and/or video content that has been intentionally reviewed, edited, and approved by Alderpen Media, Inc. for distribution through public-facing channels.
